Apples with Salted Caramel and Cookies

INGREDIENTS
- Organic Rolled Oat and Flax Cookies from La Granja Foods
- Apples, one per serving (green or red apples work well)
- 100 g white sugar
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 6 tablespoons of heavy cream
- A pinch of salt
ELABORATION
It’s essential to prepare the salted caramel correctly for this recipe. Follow these steps carefully:
- In a small saucepan or pot, add the 100 g of sugar and the two tablespoons of water. Cook over medium heat, stirring slightly to ensure the sugar and water are well combined. Monitor the syrup closely as it cooks. The goal is to achieve an amber or golden color. Once the mixture reaches this golden hue, add the small tablespoon of butter while stirring continuously until fully incorporated. Turn off the heat and slowly add the six small tablespoons of heavy cream, stirring constantly until you achieve a smooth sauce. Add a pinch of salt and let the caramel cool slightly.
- Wash the apples and remove their stems using a knife. Insert a stick or wooden skewer into the center of each apple.
- Crush the Organic Rolled Oat and Flax Cookies from La Granja Foods into crumbs and place them on a flat plate.
