Prepare a Cheese Board

INGREDIENTS
- Aged goat or sheep cheese
- Blue cheese or gorgonzola
- Semi-aged cheese with herbs or spices
- You can add optional sides like grapes, figs, apricots, nuts, quince paste or jam, as well as savory touches like olives, sun-dried tomatoes or hummus.
ELABORATION
1. Choose a nice base such as a wooden board, a large tray, or even a marble surface. Cover it with parchment paper or a linen cloth to give it a rustic touch.
2. Place 2 or 3 bowls evenly spread on the tray. You can fill them with green olives, black olives, nuts, or some crunchy snacks. It’s important to start here, as it will help you distribute the rest of the ingredients more evenly.
3. Arrange the cheeses, choosing between 2 and 4 different varieties:
- Semi-cured or cured cheese, sliced thinly
- Blue cheese (leave it in a block to add volume)
- Soft or mild cheese to balance flavors
- You can also add a smoked or herbed one
Except for the blue cheese, which you can leave whole to create volume, cut the other cheeses into triangles, cubes, or sticks. Combine textures and colors to make it visually appealing and place them at the edges of the board or base.
4. Add fresh fruit, always around the cheeses:
- Green or black grapes
- Figs cut in half
- Cherries, apricots, or apple slices
5. Incorporate the vegan snacks and breadsticks filling the gaps.
6. Finish with small details like walnuts, pecans, or almonds to add texture. You can also add quince paste cubes, alternating them with the cheeses to give a classic and tasty touch.
