Extra red berries forest jam

Jam made with seasonal strawberries from the region. La Fageda’s jams incorporate between 52% and 63% of fruit selected according to variety and origin, that’s why they are so good.

It is the product prepared by cooking whole, chopped or crushed fruit to which whole cane sugar has been added until a semi-liquid or thick product is obtained. The only secret is good fruit cooked slowly.

They have gone back to the origin to recover the most intense flavors of the traditional jams. With 100% natural ingredients such as cane sugar and lemon juice; without preservatives or colorants and with an unctuous texture, consistent and with pieces of fruit that La Fageda has not allowed to finish undoing.

La Fageda presents a selection of 7 jams, apparently simple but very authentic: made with ripe fruit and cooked “a la casserole”, over low heat and with our continuous supervision.

Who is La Fageda?

To achieve this, it uses a powerful business structure that works to create value within the organization and for the rest of society.

La Fageda offers 11 types of social and welfare activities aimed at people, and they are classified into three areas: the labor area, which includes business activities and job placement services; the occupational area, which offers therapy, training and leisure services for social integration; and the housing area, which provides decent housing with the necessary attention appropriate to each person.

What is La Fageda?

Where is La Fageda and what is La Garrotxa?

La Garrotxa is a region located in the province of Girona and is where the La Fageda Foundation is located. As the La Fageda team describes it, “La Fageda is a great little world in a nature reserve”.

The factory and farm are located on the Els Casals estate in La Fageda d’en Jordà. In the heart of La Fageda d’en Jordà Nature Reserve, within the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park, is the Els Casals de Santa Pau estate. This is the place where La Fageda develops most of its activity.

The farm is home to some 250 Friesian cows. The adult cows produce part of the milk needed to make yogurts, desserts and ice cream. The rest of La Fageda’s milk is produced by cows from the nine farms of the Cooperativa Lletera de l’Empordà, with which La Fageda is associated.

These ten farms take care of the cows in a very similar way and have the Welfair™ certificate of animal welfare, which ratifies that they are well fed; they rest and move in comfortable spaces; they are in good health; they are sociable and have a positive emotional state.

La Granja Foods and Social Responsibility

Since its origins, La Granja has been especially aware and sensitive to the integration of people with functional diversity.

That is why we collaborate with organizations dedicated to helping people with disabilities or special needs.

La Granja collaborates with Fundació L’Espiga de Vilafranca del Penedès, since its creation in 1991. The purpose of this local entity is to promote assistance, education and generic and specific training, and, in general, any activity that favors the social inclusion of people with disabilities. (www.fundaciolespiga.com) La Granja regularly cooperates with Fundació Pro-Penedès, which seeks the social and economic promotion of the region by carrying out, among others, job placement activities with people with any type of physical, mental or sensory impairment and at risk of social exclusion. Another of La Granja’s collaboration channels is with the cooperative group of entities and social enterprises Entrem-hi, specifically in the program Junts Trenquem el Cercle! With the support of Obra Social La Caixa and managed thanks to an economic fund with contributions from a network of supportive companies committed to training, it promotes work experience and the hiring of people at risk of exclusion. Among the companies involved is La Granja.

What is IFS FOOD certification?

In La Granja Foods we have the IFS 2023 certificate with a High Level result, and it has been 9 consecutive years achieving IFS certification on an annual basis.

IFS Food is a food safety standard recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) to audit companies engaged in food manufacturing. It also audits companies that handle and package bulk food products, focusing on the quality and food safety of processed products.
